Finally -- SUMMER!

Well, last week was the end of Kindergarten and Third grade. The kids had school on Monday and Tuesday and are now done for the Summer - YEAH!! We are all excited and have already spent just about every day at the pool.

A couple of highlights from the last days of school: Logan had 2 field trips, pictures from Hudson gardens are below; and Alexis had a 50's style sock hop. She was a "Pink lady" and played the part beautifully!

The first picture is of Logan and Peyton (his future bride -- or so I've been told by them both!!)

Logan turns 6!

Logan's birthday was a blast!! We had around 25 crazy 6-8 yr olds here and you would have thought it was Christmas... crazy, I know! :)

We had a lot of fun - a bouncy house, way too many cupcakes, and a pinata full of toys and candy. I am still having a hard time believing my son is 6yrs old already!

Spring Storm

I haven't updated in awhile - but todays snow day was awesome! The kids had a fabulous time playing in the snow, having snowball fights with the neighbors, building snow forts - both in the front and back yard, and having their favorite lunch and some hot chocolate to warm them up in the middle of all that fun. What a great day!

October was a great month - we had a wonderful snow storm that shut down school for a couple of days, of course halloween and we got a new family member - Zeus. He is an Italian Mastiff (Cane Corso) puppy-and very cute!!

Here are some pictures to catch everyone up with the Colorado Edwards!

September

Since it's been awhile, this may be a little long. I'll try to keep the commentary to a minimum and maximize the photos!

***************************KARATE!***********************************

The kids had a great time in the Karate demo classes conducted at their school. After 3 weeks of training, both kids broke a board at their "graduation" on their first try!! Alexis is going to continue with Karate and Logan is looking forward to getting back into gymnastics.

*******************************FISHING DERBY**************************

Pinehurst had their Annual Fishing Derby to end the Summer season. It was a great time, although, I think the kids were more interested in the frogs and horses than fishing! :)

Please indulge me while I brag a bit about my eldest....

Another family sat near us under a big tree by the lake. With them was a darling older woman in a wheel chair who had had a stroke. She was extremely difficult to understand.

My beautiful, thoughtful, caring daughter noticed she was alone when her husband went to fish and her granddaughter went to ride the horses. Stacy took it upon herself to help this lovely lady.
She wheeled her over to the horses so she could watch her granddaughter ride. Her face lit up with smiles as she clapped for the kids and horses.

Once again, we were reminded of our daughters big heart and compassionate nature. As she's done many, many times in her short 22 yrs on this earth with us, she's made our hearts swell with love and pride for this amazing young woman.

****************RACOON RUN***************************************

The kids had a beautiful day for the Racoon Run at Gov. Ranch Elementary. Thank you all who contibuted to their donation funds!! The money goes towards the Physical Ed program as well as technology for the school (computers and such). Alexis and Logan both ran over a mile and had a lot of fun!

A Watery Weekend

These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago. We had a great day at the pool with the kids, a nice dinner at Pinehurst and then went over to have a blast at Pirate's Cove with our church family from Foothills Bible Church. I was the photographer, so you'll be seeing Alexis, Logan and Mike in all the pictures. We were pretty tired by the time the day was through - too much sun, water and fun!

I took a ton of pictures, unfortunately, something happened to my camera and most of them were blurry! I posted the decent ones. I guess I'm not as camera savy as my eldest! :)

A Walk in the Park

The kids and I took a walk around the lake at Clement Park. I was very proud of them! They made it the whole way around, fed the ducks, saw a pelican and were ready for Cold Stone ice cream when we were all done.
